AmberHushTerms of Use

These terms cover the AmberHush app and AmberHush Pro. Your use of the app is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). These terms add to it; where they conflict on a matter the Standard EULA covers, the Standard EULA applies.
1. The app
AmberHush is an app for iPhone and iPad that stores photos and videos encrypted on your device, made by an independent developer (“we”). It works without an account and without our servers.
2. The free version and AmberHush Pro
The free version includes every security, backup, export and restore feature for up to 30 photos and videos in your library, counting Recently Deleted. AmberHush Pro removes that limit and lets you create and add to private spaces. Pro is available two ways:
- Pro Monthly, an auto-renewable subscription;
- Pro Lifetime, a one-time purchase.
Purchases are made through the App Store with your Apple Account and can be restored on other devices that use the same Apple Account, using Restore Purchases in the app. Family Sharing isn’t offered.
3. Pro Monthly subscription
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically each month at the price shown in the App Store unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current subscription period ends.
- You can manage or cancel it in iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions, or in AmberHush under Settings › AmberHush Pro › Manage Subscription.
- When you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the subscription period you’ve paid for, then stops renewing.
4. Pro Lifetime
Pro Lifetime is a one-time purchase that doesn’t expire. Buying it doesn’t cancel a Pro Monthly subscription: Apple keeps renewing the subscription until you cancel it, and the app reminds you to do so.
5. Prices
Prices are set in the App Store and vary by country or region. The Pro Lifetime price at launch is an early-bird price and will go up later; a price change never affects a purchase you’ve already made. If the Pro Monthly price changes, Apple tells you in advance and asks for your agreement where required.
6. Refunds
Apple processes all payments, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t issue refunds ourselves.
7. If Pro ends
If a subscription ends, a purchase is refunded, or you sign in with a different Apple Account, nothing is taken away. Viewing, exporting, backing up, restoring and deleting your photos stay free, and existing private spaces still open. Only adding stops: beyond 30 items in the library, and into private spaces, until you have Pro again.
8. Your content and your keys
Your photos and videos are yours; we claim no rights to them and can’t see them. You are responsible for your master password, recovery code, key file and backups. We don’t have copies of any of them, so if you lose them we can’t restore access to your vault. Keep at least one backup of anything you can’t afford to lose.
9. Using the app
Use AmberHush only in ways that are lawful where you live. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease the app, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.
10. Intellectual property
The app, its design, code, artwork and documentation are protected by copyright and other laws. The BGE file format specification is published separately under its own license.
11. No warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We work hard to keep your photos safe, but no software can guarantee that data will never be lost. Keep backups.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, photos, videos, profits or revenue. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for AmberHush Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
13. Changes
We may update the app, add or remove features, or update these terms. When the terms change, we’ll post the new version here with a new date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
14. Ending use
You can stop using AmberHush at any time by deleting it; back up your vault first. We may stop offering the app, but we won’t take away your ability to export your photos from a copy you already have.
